refutation to offering "chadar" on grave of auliyas

REFUTATION TO OFFERING ‘CHAADAR’ ON GRAVES OF AULIYAS.

All praises are for Allah alone. our intention is not to disrespect any sect or group, we would like to clarify an important ruling which many muslims find difficult to act upon. The faith of a Muslim is not complete unless he loves Prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h).Loving the Prophet more than any of the creation of Allah is mandatory on every Muslim. Love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) cannot be completed and true unless we obey his commands and adhere to his Sunnah. Loving him cannot be completed unless we reject, refute and criticize which has not been reported authentically from the Prophet Muhammed (p.b.u.h).

And whatever the Messenger has given you take; and what he has forbidden you – refrain from. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

(SURAH AL-HASHR 59 VERSE 7)

To defend the honor of our beloved Prophet (p.b.u.h) and His blessed teachings, we are presenting detailed study and investigation on a subject which has caused a division among the Muslims even though the proofs are crystal clear. There are websites on internet which uses fabricated and weak reports to support their understanding and creed. They even twists the authentic reports to suit their lies. They declare anyone who go against their lies as “Wahabis” forgetting that we are adhering to the creed of Prophet (p.b.u.h) and Sahabis.

We are not promoting or supporting any group here but trying to enlighten the ummah with the authentic teachings of this blessed Deen of Allah. It is on you to decide after reading the proofs what is truth and what is falsehood.

1) EVIDENCES QUOTED BY SUFIS FOR OFFERING ‘CHAADAR’ ON GRAVES OF AULIYAS & OUR RESPONSE. :-

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:”When the Messenger of Allah was buried, a red velvet cloak was placed beneath him.” (Sahih)

SUNAN NASEEI ( Vol. 3, Book 21, Hadith 2014)

Ibn ‘Abbas said that a piece of red stuff was put in the grave of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him).

SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 4, Hadith 2113)

RESPONSE.

Firstly, the hadeeth quoted above doesn’t contain the word ‘Chaadar’ in its Matn (Arabic text) rather it was Qatheefah (a cloth piece) which was inside the grave, not outside. Further Servant of prophet (p.b.u.h) Shaqran was the one who put this red Qatheefah (a cloth piece) inside the grave of Prophet (peace be upon him) as stated in hadith

Ja’far bin Muhammad narrated that:His father said: “The one who made the Lahd in the grave of the Messenger of Allah was Abu Talhah. And the one who placed the velvet cloth under him was Shuqran a freed slave of Messenger of Allah.” (Hasan)

SUNAN TIRMIDHI (Vol. 2, Book 5, Hadith 1047)

IMAM NAWAWI SAID :-

Servant of prophet (p.b.u.h) Shaqran was the one who put this red Qatheefah (a cloth piece) inside the grave of Prophet (peace be upon him), and after putting it inside there, he said: I hated any body wearing that after the prophet (peace be upon him) (here also we should notice it was prophet (p.b.u.h) garment, and he was wearing it and Shaqran hated any body wearing that after Rasoolullah (s.a.w),Imam Nawawi continues our Imam Shafi and all of our companions and many other scholars said that is makrooh (not preferred)to put any cloth piece, or cushion, or any thing under the body of dead person, and the only person who allowed it is Imam Bagawi, and he is wrong, but the right ruling is what the majority of Ulema said, and they answered about this Hadeeth that it was a special case for prophet (p.b.u.h) , because the Prophet (p.b.u.h) was wearing that Qatheefa and and sometimes sat on it..so the servant of Prophet (p.b.u.h), Shaqran hated anybody wearing the garment of beloved prophet (p.b.u.h) after his wafath (death), and and Ibne Abbas himself, hated to put any cloth inside the grave , under the dead person (as recorded by Al Baihaqy).Allah knows Best.

2) CONCLUSION. :-

The above article has enough evidences for one to accept the concept of offering “chaadar” on graves of pious (auliyas). Whoever disagrees with this is either ignorant and does not know what he is talking about, or he is stubborn and wants to twist the meaning of the words and follow his whims and desires. Allah will establish and make apparent the truth by His Words, however much the sinners detest it. The sufis and their likes twist Allah’s words from their true meanings in pursuit of their whims and desires manipulating the allegorical Ayahs, hadith without referring to the decisively clear ones and hadeeth.
